1. Everything runs on your device

Markdown Viewer is a fully client-side application. Your documents are rendered, compared, exported and auto-saved locally in your browser. We do not operate servers that receive, store or process your content.

2. No data collection

We use no analytics, no advertising, no cookies for tracking and no third-party telemetry. The site never makes a network request with your Markdown content.

3. Local storage

Your open documents and preferences are stored in your browser'slocalStorage. That data stays in your browser profile; clearing browser data will remove it. Export a backup from Settings (or the Export menu) to keep a copy on disk.

4. Opening files from a URL

If you choose to open a Markdown file from a URL, your browser fetches that URL directly. We never proxy or log it. Fonts and icons are served from this site's own assets — no external CDN calls.
